Anthony Sanchez Named Philanthropist of the Year at 2023 ALPFA Awards

We’re thrilled to share that Anthony Sanchez, VP of Global Programs-Community Impact, has been honored with the title of Philanthropist of the Year at the 2023 ALPFA Awards. The Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) recognized Anthony for setting a standard of excellence as a role model and for his approach to corporate philanthropy, including the distribution of financial resources to community partners and programs.  

“It's a great honor to be recognized as Philanthropist of the Year by my peers in the Latino community,” said Anthony. “My roots are what guide my purpose in this field, and I’m energized to find new and innovative ways to support Moody’s nonprofit partners and match community needs with our people’s passions.”

In his role at Moody’s, Anthony is responsible for setting, implementing and executing key priorities for our global social investing and employee engagement programs, which includes volunteering and pro bono initiatives. He also serves as co-chair of the Moody’s Foundation Advisory Board, where he supports the Moody’s Foundation Board and our nonprofit partners to address pressing challenges and identify new opportunities.  

Prior to Moody’s, Anthony spent 21 years at American Express, where he managed global philanthropy, employee engagement programs, grantmaking, disaster relief support, volunteering and employee giving. He has helped support pro-bono programs for over 1,300 employees in 30 countries, both at American Express and Moody’s, valued at over $8.5M in services to over 260 nonprofit organizations.

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Anthony throughout my career and his passion for community impact is unmatched. He is a true champion of inclusion and a model of leadership. I’m delighted to see his commitment recognized with this prestigious award.
